This was one of the first tracks Andrew Haug played on Full Metal Racket last night. Apparently it's the title track of the new album, which isn't due until September (!!)

Once I got over the initial silliness of a metal song about Peter Pan, I was pretty damn impressed. It's the first (and probably only) BG song I'll hear until I get around to buying Somewhere Far Beyond and/or Imaginations From The Other Side.

The small sample I heard a while back kicked my ass 2 ways to Sunday. Really catchy chorus and awesome riffage.

Surprised it isn't as popular as I thought it would be amongst metallers (from reactions I've read, such as LT's above).

I had no idea it was about Pan either. YOu've ruined the illusion.. :(

I t hink if you like "A Night At the Opera", you'll like this - it's pretty much in the same sort of direction. Which is completely different to "Imaginations..." or SFB.. Wrathy, pick up Imaginations, that's an awesome album.

Oh, come on. I can't be the only one who got the "straight on til morning" reference ;). Don't you people read?

Duly noted. It's been on my list for years. You'd think a huge Demons & Wizards fan like me would have bought some BG by now, but I'll get around to it one of these days.

I'm more of a Somewhere Far Beyond fan. Absolutely classic album that one.

Blind Guardian have always sung about this kinda shit.
This is from the song Imaginations from the Other Side

"Where's the ocean's daughter
was Peter Pan in Mordor
No one's there to keep alive
all these fairy tales
May I return to Oz
will I meet the "Tin Man"
"Coward Lion" where are you
without brain the scarecrow's lost
In the middle of the lake
stranded in the real world
Left in the world no place for daydreams
Serious life
I fall into
I fall into a dark hole
And I can't come out
Do you know if Merlin did exist
Or Frodo wore the ring
Did Corum kill the gods
Or where's the wonderland
Which young Alice had seen
Or was it just a dream
I knew the answers
Now they're lost for me"

and i'm pretty sure there's references to Peter Pan in the song Born In A Mourning Hall. God i'm just realising how gay those lyrics are! I love BG but i've never read their lyrics.

I haven't heard the song, but that quote sounds more similar in nature to the line "22 positions in a one night stand" in that Prince song than anything involving Peter Pan.
