All right so I help the local promoter put up flyers and stuff for concerts and then I get in for free. Well I was just semi-curious if it was possible to get Blind Guardian here in Lawrence, Kansas on their fall tour. He responded with Nov. 19 @ The Granada confirmed!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I immediately had to change my pants I cant believe this!!!! To think I thought Evergrey coming here was huge and now I get this, OMFG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am just :OMG:

See if you can convince them to come to El Paso texas, we have lots of BG fans here.

Good news. Let's hope that if they are planning on playing Kansas that they'll come to Atlanta, or even better: Charlotte, NC. Somewhere near South Carolina at least!!!

DON'T BE TEASING!! THAT WOULD BE AN AWESOME PLACE TO SEE THEM.

Brandon I am not teasing. I instant message with the major promoter around these parts very often. He said this is one of the more expensive concerts he is doing this year. So it will be me, zane, you, and a couple of my friends right at the front on November 19!!!

Here's the list:

November
8 - Marquee Theatre in Phoenix, AZ
9 - House Of Blues in San Diego, CA
10 - Galaxy Theatre in Santa Ana, CA
11 - Avalon in Los Angeles, CA
12 - Fillmore in San Francisco, CA
14 - TBA in Vancouver, BC
15 - El Corazon in Seattle, WA
17 - Avalon in Salt Lake City, UT
18 - Gothic Theatre in Denver, CO
20 - The Rave in Milwaukee, WI
21 - House Of Blues in Chicago, IL
22 - The Quest in Minneapolis, MN
24 - Newport Music Hall in Columbus, OH
25 - Harpo`s in Detroit, MI
26 - Opera House in Toronto, ON
28 - Salle Albert-Rousseau in Québec City, QC
29 - The Medley in Montreal, QC
30 - tba in New York, NY

December
1 - Palladium in Worcester, MA
2 - tba in Philadelphia, PA
4 - 9.30 Club in Washington, D.C.
5 - tba
7 - House Of Blues in Orlando, FL
8 - Roxy in Atlanta, GA
9 - House Of Blues in New Orleans, LA
10 - Meridian in Houston, TX

Looks like the Granada show would fit in between the Denver and Milwaukee shows, so it's very possible.

It would appear they have taken the next step up in terms of venues. Jaxx seems like a world away....

Which is good news. Even though I am not a fan of most of the power metal bands, I am still happy to see a growth in interest that allows them to do these tours over here. I know this kinda makes your job harder, as these bands are not exclusives to PP any longer.

Good to see the Roxy booking shows like this. It's owned and booked (ultimately) by CCE, so I'm thinking the success of some recent prog/power tours -- and ProgPower itself -- is turning some corporate heads.
Not that I'm a big fan of corporate involvement, but a rising tide lifts all boats....

I've never been to the Roxy though. Isn't that a much larger venue (I believe even Elton John has played there before when he came to Atlanta one time)...

Still, glad to see them not skipping GA

The Roxy is not a huge venue -- I think its capacity is around 1200 -- but it's a very nice one, with a down-sloping floor and a good-sized stage. As I recall, one of its few drawbacks is a smallish backstage area, which ruled it out for ProgPower waybackwhen.
