Yes!!!! An Atlanta date!!!! *dances*

You have no idea how happy I am about this. I was going to travel for BG.. but now I don't have to.

I just hope BG brings their own sound guy. The last show I went to at the Roxy... the sound quality was horrid.

Somebody please post more when tickets go on sale. I'll be monitoring... but I do not want to miss it.

It would appear they have taken the next step up in terms of venues. Jaxx seems like a world away....

Glenn H.

Yahbut, they're still playing Harpo's in Detroit. There are better/bigger venues there, that's for sure!

They didn't pass up houston? What a shock!

Now...let's see ticket prices. Will they pull off a Gamma Ray and Stratovarius and shoot themselves in the foot, or will they get a Sonata Arctica or Dragonforce kind of pull here?

The Roxy is a cool place.

I saw Megadeth/Iced Earth there in 01. I remember meeting Glenn outside the venue, he was pimping PP 2.

Me too. In fact, I think I might have ran into you there. A buddy and I got to the venue early and we stood around and talked with another couple of dudes who had driven up from out of town. I think I remember them mentioning NOLA.

But not as important a legacy for metal as Harpo's. I still say, the best metal shows are at Harpo's. It's just got that reputation. I dunno why.

I don't know how much that means... for example, there was a club called L'Amours in New York that was a legendary venue for metal bands... lots of huge bands like Metallica and Iron Maiden played there before they became big... but the only 2 times I was ever there, the performances were great, but the venue was pretty much a shithole, and the origanization and management was haphazard at best. Meanwhile, there are newer venues in the New York area that hae no "metal pedigree", but are much better venues.

A fucking Philly date and on a SATURDAY no less! Thank you, God!!!

No need to thank me. Those 500 Hail Mary's a day were bound to pay off eventually.

I was there for Porcupine Tree, and the sound quality was so poor that people were yelling unkind things from the back of the floor. The next tour, PT played at The Masquerade instead and brought their own soundboard, the aural equivalent of bypassing a Fuddruckers restaurant for a Krystals because the mayonnaise'd gone bad, and bringing a jar of your own. :o

Opeth sounded good at the Roxy, though, and so did Dead Can Dance, all those years ago.

It would have been fine at In Flames, if the sound guy would have turned down the bass, so one could actually hear the guitars. I had to listen very closely to here the leads.

I heard Leaves Eyes is opening the show. Anyone else hear anything about this?

Yeah, I've seen a couple of sources claiming that Leaves' Eyes are the opener. It should be a great show! Can't wait!!
