Be'lakor is a melodic metal band from Melboune, Australia. The music is led by aggressive vocals and underpinned by dark, atmospheric inflections and resonant harmonies.Having recently released their first CD entitled 'The Frail Tide' to a series of extremely positive international reviews (see links below) the band is now seeking out the support of a record label for its next offering. I just discovered this band, they're not metal but they sound very very interesting. I'm curious if anyone in here has heard them before.
Diablo Swing Orchestra

Their story is extremely interesting too, if there's any truth to it.

@siren: i stumbled over them thanks to the eye-catching name. saw them mentioned in some random namedropping forum thread a couple of months ago or so and of course had to check it out. very interesting indeed.

@KC: Very interesting. I remember hearing the name before, but i don't recall the music. Kind of disturbing, as you said, though.

edit: and i have to pay respect for the use of greek words as song titles.

Love this thread...and i didnt want to create another one, but i m desperately looking for anything remotely resembling Tristania's Widows Weeds or Beyond The Veil (dont call yourself a metaller if you dont know this albums) the original gothic metal masters. I beg you for suggestions. I know Sirenia, of course, TSOTB, Penumbra, Searing Meadows, Myriads, Tacere, TOT, TOV, Trail of Tears...and they cant stand a chance against old Tristania stuff.

ps. no sleepy Doom

I love how they have Meshuggah in their top friends.

Speaking of orchestras... anyone heard of Elend? Bought Sunwar the Dead A while ago... really enjoy it. http://www.myspace.com/elendofficialpage

Just go here to download a load of their extremely disturbing stuff: http://www.elend-music.org/downloads.php?action=show&cat=music

it's pretty arty farty and also the type of thing I use to dream some one would actually do.
If it's disturbing you're after, someone (Mumblefood from this site actually, he of How You Remind Me Of Someday fame) does loads of awesome mixes of ambient stuff, one of which consisted of the scariest, most disturbing dark ambient clips he could find, all blended together one after the other really well. It's fantastic for listening to in the dark. It's not on his website any more, but if you want it I can upload it.

EDIT: Actually, while you're at it, check out [ame=http://youtube.com/watch?v=BoCUUlGOMaA]James Blackshaw[/ame]
And that goes for everyone, dammit.
