Blood Of Nations

A good number of them are. However guys such as James Murphy, Lasse from LSD (Recorded the Alestorm discs), Glenn (who recorded our disc), and countless other veteran producers also frequent it.

The new Accept disc isn't that compressed. It's certainly loud, but there are some dynamics and it's not distorted ala Death Magnetic. Personally, I wish mastering engineers would go back to mastering ala Slave to the Grind: decently loud but not cranked, and dynamic.

Oh it's pretty compressed ;): http://img163.imageshack.us/img163/9733/loudc.jpg

But I think that it might be beyond many of the Engineer's control on how loud the album is in the end. If they actually had the choice, I'm pretty sure we would see more dynamic records.

Zoom in so you can see 0-0:45 on the waveform and you'll see the drum hits with a bit of headroom. Something you can't see on, say, the latest Cage or Firewind albums. So yes, loud and compressed, but still with some dynamics, which is more than most modern records.

I really have to agree with you about Firewind's Between Heaven And Hell though. It has an obnoxious "pumping" effect from the compression which I can barely listen to even on my studio monitors :yuk:
