Those are awesome albums! Both so melodic and unique.
"North from here" with the cold atmosphere and the slightly detuned guitars. Great.
And "The spectral sorrows" is one of my fav EOS albums.
are we calling early 90's as when the other bands started? or when they ended...and must say it depends on the album.

Maybe in the Swedish scene, but it is rising again with new stuff from Grave, Dismember, Coldworker...and such. Floridian Death Metal scene pretty much died in the late 90's.

since Bloodbath are a bit of a "for fun" band i've got a hard time classifying them as that. but they are damn good for sure. there are some damn good newer riff based bands like Blood Red Throne who can play Death Metal and avoid going gaygorecore or gothenshite
