Great, GREAT cd. Got this in the mail today and it is excellent. Zakk's best work yet in my opinion. Lots of acoustic stuff but we all know Zakk can shred so it's cool to see his other side. The first track "Crazy or High" sounds very suspiciously like it could have been written during his short sabbatical with Axl. He even SINGS like Axl on that one for pete's sake. He sounds like Zakk doing Axl, but it somehow works...as does the rest of this album. JOHNNY D...since you got me into Edguy, I think you should trust your Uncle Ted and pick this puppy up!

Ted, when ya say its his best work to date, how does it compare to "Book of Shadows"..........My first thoughts when i heard he was doing a semi acoustic album was that I'd have problems not comparing the 2 and that the new one may fall short of my expectations......

All in all.....its Zakk and even "1919 Eternal" (which is personally his worst work to date in my opinion) had some great moments.

It's right up there with Book of Shadows. The songs are mostly acoustic and surprisingly they sound like somebody else's band...I don't know how to describe it...a lot of them start off slow and acoustic and then kick in with great solos. Think "Fade To Black" in terms of song structure or even "Mr. Brownstone". I guess to me this cd has a lot of "Appetite For Destruction" moments and I don't know why...I just keep getting that feeling like, "Oh yeah, I bet he wrote this for Axl". But it's all good stuff. Just not the typical BLS album. It's more like GNR meets Alice N CHains meets Pantera, if you can imagine that. There's even a "November Rain"ish track.

Ted, Ted, Ted, I have to say this about Zakk, he's a fantastic guitarist, I just don't care for him as a songwriter(lyrically) & as a frontman. Enough said.

the swine deals another deadly blow to ol' ted. haha You are intitled, my friend, to your disliking. But alas, I believe Zakk to have pulled it off this time....I stick to my guns. This cd rules. And I ain' just honkin' on bobo!

Ditto, Zakk is an incredible axeman and I think he kicks more butts without a mic!
