After watching Police Academy on TV, I was wondering what came first the bar or the Band. Because if the band named themselves after a Gay Bar that is just Strange. But on the other hand if they named the Bar after the band that is equally as bizare. Don't you think

Seems like a bit of a silly question but each to their own. If your so curious look for when the movie was made and look for when the band 1st formed and you have a bit more understanding. However i dought the two are linked.

The band was formed in 1967, originally as the Stalk Forrest Group, then as Soft White Underbelly. The name Blue Oyster Cult was thought up by their manager after a seafood dish in a New York restaurant. BOC's first album came out in 1972, more than 10 years before the Police Academy films.
