LSD knows what he's talkin about - sm7 doesnt work at all in this setup, in fact i never had any joy with sm7 on guitars, doesn't stop me trying it out from time to time though.

Are you sure? I was under the impression that he sold it to In Flames quite some time ago and they renamed it to IFStudios.

AFAIK IF Studios are now what/where the original Fredman used to be, with Fredman still existing after relocating once or twice...

well, I've tried that myself more than once
I'm usually having like 2 or 3 mics on the speaker (sm57+ribbon+something else)...that many (pic above) would freak me out though, I'd be afraid that I might get carried away trying tons of combinations etc.
I'd like to hear the resulting sound though!

somehow I forgot about this thread and didn't notice you'd replied again....
just listened to the album and remembered this thread....I gotta say it's killer! (not that I'd have expected anything else).
Proves one more time that it can't hurt to try new things.
you should be posting more often though....or better...shouldn't have stopped posting after this thread
I know, this forum can be a PITA some times when you post things that were not done with Sneaps exact amp settings and micing, but there are also lots of lads on here who'd like to learn from you (oh, I'm LSD btw, changed my name)
