is it just me or were belphegor majorly lacking. don't get me wrong, shred for sathan and bondage goat zombie are good songs but justine whatever is like a crappier version of the song goatriech fleshcult and 2 of the new songs have rammstein style interludes...????

still a good album but am i the only one that noticed?

I need to give it more listens but so far it comes of as a rather inconsistent album. The first two songs are awesome, and from then on the quality drops noticeably, to the point where I'm just waiting for the song to end. And ditto on noticing the Rammstein similarities on a couple songs.

It appears that Belphegor were trying to experiment on this album, but the best songs proved to be those built through their tried and tested formula.

i have to agree with you on that and i do like it more than pes+apokalypse but i a good laugh out of the rammstien thing.

i also don't mind the inconsistincies usually but its odd for me to hear belphegor doin it cuz it usually always has the same vibe.

the one thing i don't like on the album though and i don't think i will is justine: soaked in blood cuz its like a punk rock goatreich

To be honest I don't think a band like Belphegor is trying to experiment on an album that is titled Bondage Goat Zombie and by the way it sounds. It is a pretty normal black/death metal about a year after I heard Goatreich - Fleshcult.

That song traded in their usual melodies for some Egyptian-inspired stuff. You see a little of that on the new one.

thats one of the reasons i don't like the album as much as the others. kinda like children of bodoms are you dead yet or in flames come clarity

and rms, check out goatreich-fleshcult, lucifer incestus, or Necrodaemon Terrorsathan

OK I'm giving the whole album another run-through, rating each song as I go along. 10/10 being best song on the album.

"Bondage Goat Zombie" - 10/10 - great throughout.
"Stigma Diabolicum" - 9.5/10 - love the chorus and latter half of the song.
"Armageddon's Raid" - 8/10 - solid song, sticking to the formula.
"Justine: Soaked in Blood" - 6/10 - fast parts are terrible, but the slower chorus is very good.
"Sexdictator Lucifer" - 4/10 - total Rammstein worship, and complete deviation from the usual formula.
"Shred for Sathan" - 6.5/10 - sounds straight off of Pestapokalypse VII. Not bad.
"Chronicles of Crime" - 3/10 - bad.
"The Sukkubus Lustrate" - 5/10 - more Rammstein moments and experimentation, but fail.
"Der Rutenmarsch" - 4.5/10 - weak.

I really enjoy the album, more so than their last. I like how they are exploring a more experimental side to their sound.

Though I would have to agree that on many Belphegor albums, the first couple tracks are great and then the album's power fades here and there over the remaining tracks. However, I really like the last couple on Bondage Goat Zombie, especially the ending on the last song. When I first listened to the album, I didn't really think much of it but it seemed to grow on me with repeated listens.

I wouldn't go as far as to imply "Rammstein worship." I think more than anything, it's just because of the german vocals.

The entirety of "Sexdictator Lucifer" is straight out of Rammstein's book, but the rest of the album is "original" material. I do agree that it's a bit of a grower, since I thought it was worse on first listen than on subsequent.

Best in terms of blackened death metal, I suppose. Their competitors Crionics and Arkhon Infaustus released albums last year. Zyklon is on hold, and who knows what Myrkskog's going to do.
