Since there were a few controversies about the awards this year, I figured I'd give people a chance to weigh in on those, just to see how serious the perceived problems really were. Multiple choice is allowed. Discuss if you care.

Also:

People who win a category should not be able to win the following year. Hell, I'd be willing to go as far to say that they should be able to be nominated

I liked the categories from last time better, overall. Best Debater was cool, and Most Knowledgeable was a better choice than "Best Taste". But no real complaints.

I do think more categories makes it more fun and interesting. I also think all categories should be nominated and voted for at the same time, and run by one person. I know that was not your fault, v-g.

i had fun with it and for those that don't like it, fuck off and stop bitching. if you don't want anything to do with it, then don't have anything to do with it

Poll results should have been public and people should have been allowed to vote for two options each, as it was last time. However, I think we shouldn't even bother trying to have awards again, since people obviously can't handle it.

Agreed.

Meh. They're a bit of harmless fun, and all the controversies and tantrums have only added to the entertainment.

or make the awards more interesting like some of the ones KD and I proposed. Controversy is interesting

The awards have been plenty controversial enough without a bunch of "Worst poster" and "Who should be banned" joke awards lumped on top.

I agree on the public thing (I was only following standard operating procedure this time around), though I don't see what good would come from letting people vote twice. If anything, that's just going to distort the polls since some people will only vote once and others will take it as an invitation to fuck with the system (i.e. no country for old wainds) and possibly vote for everyone.

Correct. No lives were lost, and anyone with half a brain did not let this get to them in the end.
