Bought "Mind_Revolution" yesterday and...

Way to state the obvious... your fucking band fucking rules to JLN... awesome job there.. and yes I am stating the obvious too.

And yes I have known bout JLN for awhile now reading that post made me listen to you guys some more.

To Ronnie.B: ! I've never listened to JLN, I'm gonna have to check them out, and the Amaran samples on the website rock.

Sorry, Sarge, but Norther's got a long way to go before they can even touch Skyfire. I like them, but they've got nothing you can't hear by listening to another band. They sound much darker and angrier, and generally more death metal-y than Skyfire (which isn't necessarily good, and is generally not, as in this case), but that's because they're feeding off other bands' already established skill, where Skyfire uses their own. Which is beside the fact that you just kind of pulled that out of nowhere, the only place Norther was mentioned was in ShadowOfFire's signature, apart from the topic. Keep in mind I do like Norther. Just not as much as Skyfire.

And undynamic is a word :)

Oh yeah my sig.... that's a big ass sig i'm gonna change it......................................... FUCKING HEAVY METAL! WOOOO. yup.

Who cares how original they are or aren't, Norther's songs are just down right better. Skyfire doesn't have 1/10 the catchy melodies as Norther. It is true that Skyfire's sound is more different, but does that alone make them better? Absolutely not. Originality is sooo over-rated. In fact, Skyfire's sound is all over the place in a bad way. They don't even know what they are shooting for half the time. They severly lack song structure. All some of you care about is how different they sound, BIG DEAL. Truth is, they still don't sound as good as Norther, COB or Kalmah.

:zombie:

I agree with everyone about Norther. I actually own Mirror of Madness and like it quite a bit. But originality DOES matter to an extent. I listen to a shit load of melodic death and obviously not all of it is original in style, but its the way they go about it that makes me appreciate them more. Norther is good and has the ability to write some damn good songs, but as you go through MoM (for me anyway), the songs have a lot less identity, like they said, the sound is undynamic.

Each Skyfire song has its own identity and its own melody line, I cant say that with MoM...
