Brandon Boyd solo album... worse master than DM?

The preview track on youtube is disgusting. Read it was the same dude who did A City by the Light Divided by Thursday and I have to say remembering when that cd came out someone did me a rip and I listened and thought that they encoded it real bad and it was pretty awful to listen to so I bought the cd off amazon and alas it just sounded the same. Loads of ppl are saying its the mastering but it just sounds like the bus's all have way too much nasty limiting.

I may buy this CD as a reference disc because however shite my mixes and ghetto mastering is, it ain't gonna sound as horrid as this!

Well at least whoever mastered/mixed it is off the hook, i can't really understand why someone who want their mix to sound so distorted.. it's worse then hypocrisy's "virus" album ffs.

Hi everyone. I have read a bunch of your comments about the "distortion" in the music and wanted to let you know that it was highly intended on my part. I wanted the music to be the antithesis of that "faux clarity" we've gotten so accustomed to in popular music. Filling spaces with beautiful distortion and fuzz as opp...osed to other, more obvious things...

My favorite albums growing up (and currently) never sounded perfect. In fact the most lasting ones were flawed in the most poetic ways. All that being said, there shouldn't be any clipping going on in the sound. Just distortion and a pinch of chaos. How loud are you guys listening? Maybe ya'lls speakers can't handle... muh steez! I can't believe I just typed that.

What it actually proves is people are fucking sheep and will find their idols to worship anywhere - even on fucking Facebook it seems.

It hurts to listen to I don't know if many people could listen to a whole album of this, even if they don't consciously realize how bad it sounds.
