I came to know and love Iron Maiden when Bruce was the singer, so he is Numero Uno for me all the way. But I can't say it was love at first listen--I immediately connected with the music but I had never heard a metal singer at that time who used so much vibrato--Bruce was too operatic for my taste initially (I was full-blown into early Def Lep at the time). But I got over that after a few listens and quickly grew to absolutely love his distinctive sound. But of course I respect Paul's contribution and legacy. I give credit to Blaze, too, because he had some truly impossible shoes to fill, in my view. And I'm not familiar with his material outside of Maiden.
