I know its more of a Death Metal thing but I really cannot stand the sound of the snare when it makes that thud sound instead of a nice snap.

However what I will say is the vocals sound really lifeless. What did you do when it came to compression/EQing?

oh, I don't remember exactly, what I've done, maybe I will check it in the evening

as far as i know, the was a hi-pass at 180Hz, a 3-5db boost somewehere in the 5000's , and hard compression (20:1, -30 threshold, slow release)

I tried QuadraFuzz for boosting the highs, but It appeared that I don't have enough practice to use well, so...
