website says 7, dunno what time he'll go on..
but I believe its just him playing, plus some bassist and drummer

from the reviews I read its just his set for 2.5 hours
!
i think he went on at like 9 or something, and yes, it was just him and his band for like 2.5 hours. excellent show. i was really really high, and it was just amazing.

Colonel Claypool's Bucket of Bernie Brains... an awesome band. Hope they do a tour or something so I can see them live.

Have you seen the Les Claypool DVD? cool stuff, I think there's some C2B3 footage on there.

Derick, what time and with whom is he playing?

oh I just noticed there's an opener, somebody (or someone!) called "That One Guy"

wow yeah, that buckethead show was pretty amazing and all.

maybe i had some pics turn out, likely not, but if anything looks decent i'll post tomorrow

I feel guilty for not going. Buckethead is a friend and he's a very cool and mellow dude. I recorded him in the studio (where he doesn't wear the bucket/mask), and he even let me play his custom, all-white Les Paul. Man, he is such a monster on guitar!

Where's my cookie?

telling us he doesn't wear the bucket in the studio is like telling a kid there's no such thing as santa....:erk:

anyway, I'll do a write up of the show tonight.. hold tight!

Lol. Would it help if I told you that he's still a freak? Don't bring up UFO's with him - you'll be sorry.

so I planned to post a few pix tonight, but hell I didn't get home until 2am and had to wake up shortly thereafter for work, I'm freakin tired, so those'll come later.

anyway, the show ruled.

opening guy.. "That 1 Guy" holy crap AMAZING. the dude had this homemade instrument which he called "the magic pipe" it consisted of some metal pipes and various midi triggers and stuff ducttaped on to it, as well as 2 bass strings. Using this "magic pipe" and a looping machine he proceeded to lay down some TIGHT grooves, and ran a gamut of styles from funk to ambient to metal.
He also played some sort of ELECTRIC COWBOY BOOT which functioned like a hand drum, and the ol' wacky standby of playing a saw with a bow using a theremin type device or whatever causes bows and saws together to make those noises that they do.

If you ever get a chance to see "That 1 Guy" play, don't pass it up.
and seems he has a website >> http://www.that1guy.com/

Buckethead-

first time seeing him, and it was amazing as suspected. Unfortunately I do not know the name of the dude who was playing bass for him, but Pinchface was on drums, and this guy's pretty hilarious. So a lot of the set was Pinchface and the bassist laying down a rhythm and Buckethead doin' his thing over top. A lot of the riffs I recognized from songs off of Monsters and Robots, and others I recognized and could not place with any songs.
So they played for a while, now and then the 2 guys would leave and Buckethead would turn on some backing tracks to play over.
He handed out toys to people in the front row...
Busted out some nunchucks.
Did the most realistic dance of The Robot I'd ever seen.
Closed with some Hendrix tunes in the encore.
Some other stuff here and there. LONG set, was something like 3 hours, including the intermission half way through.
The people I talked to after the show outside the venue informed me it was the best set they'd seen him play at the Recher Theatre out of the past times he's been there.

So my digicam took some crappy videos, which I uploaded here

and here he is doing the robot http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XR7zUyx9Khc
