cakewalk home studio question

i recently got myself a copy of this program but im having trouble with recording. As i record it automatically plays back what im playing delayed which is really annoying.

I was wondering how i could turn this off so i can record properly.

You problably have a crappy sound card... the same happens to me when I record with cubase... ´tis a bummer

er... you should probably try muting the line-in on the playback mixer and only set it to the recording mixer. you will have to punch it back through when you want to preview your sound, but that's a possible cause.
