-works with mac+logic+protools

Has anyone had any dealings with the edirol ones?

M-Audio would be your only options if you want to work with PT.

Nice pre's, excellent converters, been rock solid on a PC so far, 8 mic/line inputs, 16 channels of ADAT inputs and 2 channel of S/PDIF, MIDI I/O, works with ProTools M-Powered. You won't be able to use PT with any Edirol interface.

Not majorly fussed with pro tools atm.
I'm using logic as my daw atm because its what i know but i plan to move to pro tools in the future.

Yup, switched my Firepod for this one about six months ago. I only switched because I wanted to go ProTools, so I never expected the interface to be an improvement over the Firepod, but gladly it turned out so.

Quite a lot of folk on this forum are using a Profire 2626 now, just search for Profire topics in the equipment subforum and you'll find shitloads of praising

Yeh i've been reading up about it since you suggested it, its sounds really good, esp for the price! I'm quite heavily considering it.

What i don't get is how you can pay like £400+ for some interfaces that only have 2 or so inputs?
yet you can pay like £350 for this and have quite a few, is this to do with the preamps or something?

The 2626 sounds almost unreal for the price.

Same reason why people pay $2000 for a good guitar that basically has the same things as the $300 version. Quantity doesn't always mean quantity.
