Canada is now a mini US (even more).

Yes the privitization of health care will lead nowhere but down. No matter what any politician says will happen, common sense, and the testimony of people who live in the same situation points to a useless free system and a pricy private system, and no good docotors working from the gov, and all of em working for themselves. This makes me upset for one reason. Doctors are suppose to want to help and cure the sick, but this becomes a capitalist opportunity that is motivated by greed and not the wellfare of others.

No, the fact is, you're now paying more/the same for less. The privatization of the health services in countries do not work. We pay taxes for NHS including denistry but we have to use a private dentist and doctor as all the NHS ones in 60miles fucked off private. As a result, i, who actually earns cash pays for a health system i am not able to use.

It doesn't work.

At least your government isn't fucked up the ass, were the public health care doesn't even work because of the lack of medical personel. Canada's fucked. I'd rather score a deal with a private doc, (which I already have) then wait to get crapshit public service. It works if you play it right.

I'm lucky, ive used the doctor TWICE between age 7 and age 18.

When i DID need the doctor, glandular fever, couldn't eat, drink, sleep, talk or swallow for 3 days... I was told i'd have to wait 5 more days for an appointment.
So don't tell me that privatization doesn't draw most doctors to private healthcare.

Privatization doesn't draw most doctors to private healthcare.

What you gonna do about it, eh???

A national health service is essential. Everyone needs immediate and free (well, free insomuch as taxed but not privately funded) healthcare. The american health system is a joke, and there is nothing to prove a private healthcare system in any way benefits most patients over a nationally run one.

Exactly the bill was actually attached to a more popular one so that it would be voted on, but the other Senators voted against it anyway making the Alaskan dude really pissed.

The only reason Americans haven't privatized is because it works well. we don't want that here, were to concerned about how much we'll make from frivilous lawsuits. Personally I think privatization is a good idea, but like all good ideas it has to be executed by the right people, which it hardly ever is.

so in other words since you are okay, you couldnt give a damn about the rest of the people.

[sarcasm]Guess what? Yeah that's exactly it. Since no one gives a fuck about you, why should you them?[sarcasm/]

I belive that you pay your money, you get your service. Private offers that for those who can afford it and getting rid of it will over-load public services to the brim. If a person can pay their way for an operation and get it right now other then six months later why would you hold them back and make them use public? Wouldn't that benifit the other people who don't have enough money to use private? By taking the people that can pay their way out of the que line it makes things go alot faster. Why not private and public? There's a fine balance.

Fuck. I know how this was started, I'll end it now. Harper is proposing that both public and private systems stay around. Here's the catch: Harper says that he will give you a garanteed waiting time for your operation/illness/whatever. If that waiting time is exceeded, the government will pay for you to be moved to a private clinic for your proceedure to be done. He's planning that will never have to happen, waiting times being exceeded, because hes going to make or public health care system a whole hell of alot better. The only thing that the private health care has over public is effeciancy, and that's what we need.

it wont.

Why are you so sure about that? Anything can work if it's executed by the right people.
