So who here has seen it? I've owned the uncut version on VHS for a few years, but I assume it'll never see the light of day on an official UNCUT DVD release...? I've seen bootlegs on eBay.

Anyone seen this? Still can't get over people thinking "Blair Witch" was an original concept...

Never heard of it. You've talked about it before in relation to Blair Witch, I just forgot the name. Website not working right now. I saw Blair Witch on opening night in a theatre that held probably 500 people if not more. Crowd was dead, and I mean DEAD silent all the way through, until the credits started and some dude yelled "BULLSHIT!!!" to which everyone laughed. Although I really liked it, that was the only time I watched it after months of following their badass website. :dopey:

Cannibal Holocaust is the sickest movie ever. The part where they open the poor little turtle is so fucking discusting :ill:

Yeah, I have a cut version, never seen the uncut tho.

I'm not sure what the differences are, but I imagine it's all the sick shit they do to animals.

Cannibal Ferrox was released uncut by Grindhouse tho, so I see no reason why Cannibal Holocaust won't have the same.

That's "Make them Die Slowly" right? Yeah, that was pretty gruesome too, but something about Holocaust which just went a little further over the top...

Hmm, a fair bit of that was in there, but I've no doubt they cut some. They cut out the more extreme shots in the scene where that woman is raped with a... spikey object. No idea really. Lee is a sick fuck, I'm sure he'll have some input on this

Yup indeed, never seen it myself. Too many films, not enough time or money :(

Yeah? It's working ok for me....

Blair Witch was so low-key, it really looked like a home movie, so I guess they did what they intended. I missed all the website stuff beforehand, but it's marketing genius. Whoever put that together made a LOT of money. You're talking about a $40K movie raking in $400m.

CH looks like a 'regular' movie I suppose, but the concept is very very similar: a bunch of explorers go into the Amazon, they go missing, but only their video footage is found....

Its the definition of GORE. "Make Them Die Slowly" has some scenes that are more twisted than C.H. (the woman hunged by her tits). What i like about these films is that the natives (who are not cannibals by default, they just become in the proccess - and as a defense maybe), dont start anything... its always something the explorers who go there do wrong.

Absolutely -- good point. The message (somewhere) in the films is that if you fuck with something you're not familiar with, it's going to kill you and eat you and not necessarily in that order. A bit like Iraq. :tickled:

Ther key thing is, by the end of Cannibal Holocaust, you have NO sympathy for those fuckers. You end up siding with the cannibals.

I saw it. The only part I really found disturbing was the girl gettng raped(?) with the spiked ball thingy. Oh and the turtle part was kinda strange.....and I definately agree with you about siding with the cannibals. I kinda cringed when his dick got cut off though, haha.

My mate bought it on DVD the other day but he had to take it back because it was jumping  no idea if it was cut or not. He has a VHS version which we will watch someday after Download I am sure :D

The worst part for me was the killing of that rat thing with a skewer through the head. During all the cannibal attacks, you can keep telling yourself, "they're only actors, it's not real"....but you can't really do that with the animal killings. :erk:

I just bumped Cannibal Holocaust to the top of my que at Netflix (right behind Sopranos season 5). It's only the R version, though.

Oh ok, so it was released officially on DVD then....be warned, oh lovers of animals and vegetarians. :tickled:
