yeah, i cant find that one we started awhile back so heres a new one.
anyone drive or have access to an S2000? i was looking at new mx-5s today and they are gorgeous and awesome and all that but for the same price i could have a used 240 hp slot racer. theres a BUNCH for sale around here.
comments?

S2000 all the way ... I have not heard a bad thing about that car ...
it's fast as fuck, fun to drive and its an indestructible Honda

MX5? Come on ...

never driven one, but i dig them. ricer stereotype or not, Hondas are a blast to drive. those new Miatas (yes i know they are no longer called a Miata) look f'n sweet though, and that price is killer for what you get. but like, i'm sure you know all about that. :loco:

i wanted to get an S2000 when i got my WRX but my bass playing ways told me no. i could fit like, one bass in the passenger seat. and that's it.

hey move to a country cooler than USA and get one of these:

the ULTIMATE LEZZZZZZZZZZZZBIAN WAGON!!! 300hp Forester STi. whoa.

oh ... the MX5 is the new Miata ... hell ... I take it back ... get that then, they are sweet :)

I was thinking of some old Mazda before ... scuse

Mind you VW have never made a serious rocket in the vein of an STI, the Golf GTI's are quick but in standard form to an sti is no comparison. Mind you to a standard WRX a new GTI will give it a run for its money trust me. Give them the time Suburu has had building STI's then we will compare.

ahh...fuck it. i had a long talk today with my coworker who drives an SVT Cobra. he suggested i just keep the damn miata and pack it full of go-fast goodies. for less than half the price of a used S2000 i could have a supercharged miata with 300 RWHP that pulls 1 g.
$5000 supercharger + $5000 suspension/brakes = streetable race car

although, my new favorite is the lotus elise/exige. man, i forgot all about this car. beautiful

i don't know ... not a fan of pumping that much money into an old car ...

the Elise is selling slow now, while an amazing car, really impractical for daily driving ... there are deals out there on it. if I could only fit in the fucker ...

deals? like what?
i just read they only made 2200 of them and something like 300 exiges. thats insane. no wonder theyre so expensive.
re: money into old cars - theres two opposing schools of thought on this one. 1) that a vehicle can conceivebly run forever. the only thing stopping that would be catastrophic failure of the frame or a supporting structure. absolutely everything else on a car can be easily replaced. 2) replacing or repairing parts will eventually cost more than the market value of the car, effectively making it scrap metal.
i tend to fall in with #1. depending on the car of course.

ive never even seen one of the new lotuses in real life. seen everything else. they must be really sparse.

look ... if you are ready to blow $10k cash on upgrades on a used car ... my suggestion is the following.

sell your current car, use the money from what you get as a downpayment on a new MX5 ... and then the $10k you were ready to blow anyway is good for monthly loan payments for at least 2 years ...

you have a new car + you don't have to part with $10K up front ... let it grow in the bank ... baby needs diapers :loco:

just my 2 cents.
