debit
I try to carry up to 60-80 bux. depends on how lazy I am with cashing checks.
Actually have a work check in my pocket right now from last friday. I used to have two or three in my pocket until cashing them. One time I found a check that was two years old in my car. Didnt have any problems with cashing it.

I find the more cash I have on me, the more likely I am to spend it. So I go debit all the way, and keep a small amount of cash on me all the time. My EFT card also has to stay home when I go out and paint the town red, otherwise my account balance ends up in the red.

kinda depends where i am, and what's most convenient/fast. if im at a grocery/retail store and its gonna break more than 1 $20 i usually use the debit card to cut down on atm trips, but at restaurants, bars, quickie mart, etc i prefer cash cause it makes transactions faster and smoother.i like to always have some cash on me for whatever comes up, but i usually dont pull out more than $100 over what i plan to immediately spend, as my wallet is like death row for my money. just countin down the days...

I pretty much always buy stuff with cash. If i started to pay for shit with my debit card I feel it would lead to a slippery slope into debt. I use my debit card when I buy stuff online, but if i go to a store for a few everyday-items I'll pay with cash.

In Canada I put everything on creditcard because I could and it was faster than debit. I paid it off at the end of the next day using online banking (could always see the current total, was a good habit to keep my balance in my head).

In germany I'm forced to use a lot more cash than I like, and debit as a secondary preference. Credit cards can only be used online or for taxis (sometimes). Cash for the bar, cash for most restaurants, cash for food/snacks/etc. Debit is only really usable in stores (aka: groceries, electronics, clothes, music, etc).

I hate carrying cash because trips to the atm are a waste of time, and if somebody steals your wallet, then the cash it gone. I prefer credit card because often its possible to earn rewards/points on the CC that you don't get on the debit card.
