This, along with Thane to the Throne (which I havn't heard all of on account of it being a concept album about something I am not particularly interested in), is the only Jag Panzer album I have heard.

I think it is awesome but I was wondering if it is generally considered a good album, and where it stands in relation to other 'Panzer albums (I have read some of the other threads and realize that Ample Destruction seems to be thought of as thier best).

I was not a huge fan of ample destruction.....I LOOOOOVED Casting the Stones, it has most of my favourite panzer songs on the album such as Legion immortal (which i posted a cover of on youtube) , Tempest (the solo from which is extraordinary), Starlights Fury, Achilles , Battered and Bruised, Feast or Famine..........truly amazing album, Mechanized Warfare is actually my favourite Panzer album (second fav of all time) and casting the stones has to be next...........I Love Panzer

Metal On!!:headbang:

Oh and I forgot to mention Vigilant and Cold and the Mission(1943).........Basically every song on that album was absolutely 5/5 stars for me except The hearkening which i gave like 3 1/2 and the precipice which i gave 4

The breakdown in vigilant kicks ass , that shit is so fuckin heavy , and that little piano part was really cool

panzer is the greatest metal band of this decade

Thanks for the input, guys.

All those songs are completley awesome. Battered and Bruised and Tempest are less so than the rest, for me. I'll check out Mechanized Warfare as soon as I can.

Cold is slighly annoying to me. The only thing I didn't like about The Hearkening was the chorus (which is a huge part of the song, I guess). I though Precipice was a great song! Easlily up there with the rest of them.

Starlights Fury would probably be my favourite off the album, closely followed by: Feast or Famine, Vigilant, Legion Immortal and The Mission (1943). In no order. I'm not interested in modern history/warfare, yet I always seem to really like songs with those themes.

My 2nd favorite of the Broderick albums, after Thane to the Throne. I feel the progressive bits introduced in Mechanized Warfare were a lot better integrated to the classic JP metal in this one. In MW songs like The Silent or Hidden In My Eyes were a bit too prog-for-progs-sake IMO (I still really like the album though).
CtS flows smoothly all the way, technical and melodic.

I consider "Casting the stones" is among my favourite Jag Panzer albums. Maybe after "The age of mastery" I´d choose "Casting the stones".

There´s only one song I´m not too much into: "THe hearkening". The rest of the album is absolutely amazing, specially "The mission", "Achilles" and "Legion immortal"
