What's the general feeling towards these Brits?

Personally, I really can't stand their doom metal. But the upbeat desert sound type stuff is pretty catchy.

I think Lee Dorrian's voice ruins the band for me, though.

"Forest" is a masterpiece in its own right, pure doom! remember lee dorrian went from being the vocalist in probably the fastest band (napalm death) in the world, to the slowest!

"Ethereal" is a masterpiece, but since then the albums havent had the same consistency as the first two.

I'm a relative latecomer to "Forest of Equilibrium." I remember hearing a few tracks from it in 2002 and I didn't like them (I think my first post in UM was a rant about how bad it was). Well, my tastes have evolved a bit since then, so I decided to pick it up in a baragain bin. And now I've listened to it about 5 times the last 2 weeks and I'm enjoying it more and more. What the fuck was I thinking?!? They actually sound like they're playing inside a crypt. Great riffs throughout.

My NP recently: Electric Wizard - "Dopethrone", REVEREND BIZARRE - "In the Rectory of Bizarre Reverend", UMBRA NIHIL - "Gnoia." I realized that FOE was probably a prototype for all these bands. Next up: CANDLEMASS and maybe "Vol. 4."

I never really got into middle-era Cathedral, don't care to. Used to have "Hopkins" and "Caravan." Traded them away. What're "Endtyme" and "Garden" like? Doom?
