CD Haul at ProgPower

Not only was ProgPower III an amazing event, but they also had all the major online CD stores peddling their wares. Included were Century Media, Inside Out, The Laser’s Edge, The End, and Sentinel Steel. Seeing all of these CDs, I went a little bonkers. Here are my “souvenirs” from the weekend:

Symphony X - The Odyssey Ltd Edition (probably the most anticipated album for me)
Luca Turelli - Prophet of the Last Eclipse
Avantasia - The Metal Opera Part II
Nightwish - Century Child
Ark - Burn the Sun
Hammerfall - Crimson Thunder
Eternity X - Zodiac
Angra - Rebirth
Dream Evil - Dragonslayer
Helloween - The Dark Ride Ltd Edition
Impellitteri - System X (the return of Graham Bonnet – Woo hoo)
Threshold - Clone
Threshold - Hypothetical

Most of these I planned on getting. Some, like Hammerfall, was a bit of an impulse buy. I liked Legacy, but thought Renegade wasn't great. Threshold I did not plan on buying, but had to pick up some CDs because they were so good.

There was much more I would have liked, but the money runs out eventually. Sigh. I’ll have lots of listening ahead of me. Luckily, I have a 90 min drive to see Blind Guardian at Birch Hill this week !

Zinescene - I'm curious to know how the new Mob Rules CD is. I picked it up, but didn't buy it. I consider them a lesser band, but for some reason I like the first album. I've heard the second, but didn't think as much of it.
Steve

Pain of Salvation: The Perfect Element I, Remedy Lane
Threshold: Critical Mass
Opeth: Deliverence
Blood Bath: Ressurection through Carnage
Neurosis: A Sun that never Sets DVD

Yeah, I went poor, so I could only afford:
Edguy:Theater of Salvation
DC Cooper

Damn if I didn't want the rest of Edguy's work, Nightfal in Middle Earth, and anything by Gamma Ray though. I fully intend on utilizing my next paycheck to its fullest potential...

Angel Dust-Bleed
Eldritch-Headquake
Evergrey-In Search of Truth
Hourglass-The Journey Into
Iced Earth-Alive in Athens 3CD
Missa Mercuria
Spock's Beard-V
Stigamta IV-Solum Mente Infirmis
Superior-Behind
Zandelle-Twilight on Humanity

I wish I could have spent more, but I am but a poor college student. I really enjoyed talking to Tomer and Andreas at The End Records booth. I respect those guys so much for spreading metal at amazing prices and being genuinely nice and knowledgeable.

Anyway, I picked up the following:

Opeth - Deliverance (so glad to finally get this one)
Nightingale - Alive Again: The Breathing Shadow Part IV (amazed to see it lying there 2 months before release date)
Dan Swanö - Moontower
Dissection - The Somberlain
Pain of Salvation - The Perfect Element
Pain of Salvation - Entropia
Daylight Dies - No Reply
Karmakanic - Entering the Spectra

...and the free PP3 and Nightmare Records samplers. :)

Here's my PPIII haul (and I'm allowed, cuz I haven't bought a damned CD in over 2 months or so):

Edguy - Kingdom of Madness (replaced CD-R)
Edguy - Theatre of Salvation (replaced CD-R)
Gamma Ray - Land of the Free digi (replaced CD-R)
Gamma Ray - Somewhere Out in Space digi (replaced CD-R)
NOTE: the guys in these bands were so cool to hang with I felt guilty for not owning the above 4 records

Threshold - Critical Mass
Threshold - Clone
Symphony X - The Odyssey
Symphony X - Twilight In Olympus
Symphony X - The Divine Wings of Tragedy
The Storyteller - s/t
Ablaze My Sorrow - Anger, Hate & Fury
Bathory - Nordland I
Dragonland - Holy War
Drakkar - Razorblade God
Freternia - A Nightmare Story
Hammerfall - Crimson Thunder digi
Manticora - Hyperion
Mercenary - Everblack
Mob Rules - Hollowed Be Thy Name
Opeth - Deliverance digi
Luca Turilli - Prophet of the Last Eclipse
Shadow Keep - A Chaos Theory
Shadows Fall - The Art of Balance
Spiritual Beggars - On Fire digi
Superior - Ultima Radio
Zonata - Buried Alive

Yeah, I went kind of nuts on the power stuff as well, but that's only because I already own every worthwhile death, Viking & black metal album out there. :D

General Zod, if you're reading, I'm excited to listen to Superior just based on the booklet! I'm anticipating that I'll love it, so thanks in advance!

My hauls were all freebies that people were giving away because I lost my ATM/Credit Card on Wednesday night like a dumbass. I will be making up for that very soon.
