UNfortunately, after that album they got all psychadelic and lost me, but Solar Lovers is a great disc...

They were a Dutch band, started out as Doom/ Gothic Metal but soon turned into some "orange" stoner hippy band, Solar Lovers was the last "melancholic" disc they released, it's quite old meanwhile. They split up recently.

I once heard a demo tape by Celestial Season from 1994. Sounded a lot like My Dying Bride...

If I recall correctly their first album Forever Scarlet Passion (I need this...) was very My Dying Bridish, because it was doom and violin heavy.

Solar Lovers is so very not MDB though, and a good example of how a derivative band with the same basic elements as a more popular band can grow into their own entity.

Too bad about them going 'stoner rock' after this though...
