for the first time, i started laughing...couldn't believe it was Warrel singing..now it's one of my fav's to listen too when i feel very sad. (a few months ago, my mom felt very sad and while we were walking along the canal, i sang it for her...it made her cry and now we sing it together...it holds special memories for me).
" chances three, life's sweet memories, to take to the other side..." and
" chances three, life's melody, cryptic symphony" those are my favourite lines of the song..
Stupid thing is, i always have to repeat that song a few times...

And we dance on the strings...

I always feel as if I am in an inn at the time of Shakespeare when I listen to that song. The mixing of WD's low and higher vox is just killer. Everything this band creates OWNS

:muahaha:

For me it's one of Nevermore's best songs!!
The way Warrel mixes his vocals is amazing!
And the lyrics...
When I first got the CD I spent one hour and a half just listening
to that song!!

Were can this song be heard or downloaded. I live in the U.S. and I'll guess I will have to order the import box set. I have the "Believe in Nothing" C.D. single with All Cowards Hide, but not Chances Three. What other "bonus" tracks are on the Dead Heart... box set? Mr. goat, can it be downloaded from winamp? Pardon my ignorance.

Ok, so I downloaded "Chances Three" from Audiogalaxy. This has got to be the gayest song ever.

Warrel sounds like he has a cold. Remind anyone else of "Silent Lucidity?" YUCK.

But I must admit, I'm a HUGE Nevermore fan, so now it's played about 5 or 6 times..... BUT IT'S STILL GAY!!! GAY! GAY!

I'd much rather listen to "Forever." That Seattle rain must have fogged their sense of good taste. Ickkk. Thank god (or Satan) that song never made it to the real release.

Just to prove how gay I am, I jotted down the lyrics for anyone who might care.

Chances Three by Nevermore:
-------------------------------------

There’s just three chances in your life
To shine in the sun
Take them, live through them
They show you how to love

Youth is fleeting and sweet
Full of wonder
Then falling away
Turn and you’re grown, earning wisdom
Then you grey like a leaf in the autumn
Life just somehow passed by

Chances three life sweet memories
And all in the blink of an eye
Who’s to say where we’re going
I won’t struggle to try

Chances three life sweet memories
To take to the other side

Just three chances
Youth is fleeting and sweet, full of wonder
Then falling away
Turn and you’re grown, earning wisdom
Then you grey till the wind calls your name
Chances three, life’s melody, cryptic symphony

And we dance on the strings

Chances three.

I think the song owns as it is a total departure from what we expect. The low and high WD vox harmonies are unreal.

Gay? Sound like he has a cold?
Man, i wish i could sing like that when i have a cold!
Come one, the song is wonderful!
Anyway, i wish that you were at the show, back in 1999 it think that was...it was a show in Belgium at the Biebob metalfest. Van started What tomorrow knows but something went wrong with the sound and everything went down..except for the vocals. Warrel jumped in like a professional and he started singing Lotus eates A CAPELLA!!!
That gave me the chills, it was wonderful!
Totally different, but pure...i loved it. They didn't played What tomorrow knows anymore but this was even better!
