I caught this while I was in the US, and it's well worth seeing.They change a few things regarding the plot but it's pretty faithful to the book, just adds some cool little character tweaks.Johnny Depp is not suprisingly hilarious, and the musical arrangements and cinematography are excellent as well.

I've heard it's ok... still going to go and see it when it opens but I'm not as excited about it as I was.

I plan to go and see it when it comes out. One of my favourite actor/director team-ups interpreting the work of one of my favourite writers? This thing has "brilliant" all over it.

I still have to buy the 1971 version on DVD sometime. I hope there's an option on the menu that lets you skip the songs!
