Appreciate the info Glenn. However for me the only issue is that Airtran is only available through Midway which is quite far for me. I am less than a mile from O'Hare

too bad they don't fly from El Paso, cheapest i have found......$214 on Southwest from here to Birmingham Al then rent a car and drive to Atlanta.

EDIT: Anyone know how to get these fares? I can go to the special fare page, see WPB to ATL for 59 bucks...but cannot get that cost for the trip to ATL on March 11or12 with a return on the 12 or 13th.

Anyone know how much the cab ride is from the airport to the venue?

Fly in, take cab to show, hang out at show, take cab back to airport, fly home. No hotel stay.

Better off taking the MARTA- public railroad transport. It goes from the Airport directly and the one stop is literally a 2 minute walk (if that?) from Center Stage. It was IIRC $1.50-$2.00 each way, definitely will save you a huge chunk of change getting around Atlanta.

This show is at The Local, in Marietta, not at Center Stage. There are no MARTA stops (bus or train) near The Local. You would want to look into a combination of riding MARTA and then hopping a CCT bus or cab to the venue.

So take public transit! Chicago has a great train system! :)

If only the show were that close to MARTA!

For this show one could take MARTA from the airport straight up to Arts Center Station (by Center Stage, ironically enough) and transferring to Cobb County Transit. Once out in the (relative) boonies of Marietta a cab ride wouldn't be too bad....

Actually if anyone is coming from far away and needs transportation help, local Atlanta fans should be able to help out. :kickass: (I'd offer immediately, but since it's a Thursday night show I'll have to Take Steps to get out of work that night.)

No Airtran out of Wilmington. I could do US Airways for $150 round trip IF I wanted to fly at 7am and spend all afternoon bumming around Atlanta (which I could manage), otherwise it shoots straight into $250+. Delta doesn't have anything for under $800 (ATL is their goddamned hub for petessakes!)

I reeeeeeeeally want to go. If someone's playing chauffeur from the closest MARTA stop, and someone's got a couch I can surf (or extra room in a hotel) I might be inclined to swing it...
