What level? The only thing I've found that's remotely similar is the Arctic Caverns level, but that's still kind of a stretch.

Between half way & 3 quarters of the way. That riff is the same thing as 0:10 in Hate me.
I figured that out when I was playing battletoads and randomly started singing hate me, then I noticed the riff was the same.

In the game itself, that part repeats more though, so it sounds more like it.

You must have linked to the wrong one because the Hate Me melody was not in that midi file.
Whatever the case, Nintendo rocks even if it is so old compared to say the PS and shit like that....if any band sounds like pc or tv game music, it's Dragonforce....them i dont like,..
I swear I hear something that should have been in Sonic The Hedgehog in one of the interludes in the Children Of Bodom track.

omg that sounds cool, i always loved the way nintendo melodies sounded, freaking amazing, i especially love the stuff from the megaman x series.
