Religion is a topic that everybody has a point in like politics that nobody is going to win. All i am saying is, that i am a christian, and if you are not,then i am not critisizing you and i would expect the same. The only thing i want to mention is, i pity you, we will think of you while you burn in hell !!!

I think that people in America might not understand my problem with Catholic and Protestant, just in Britain people have been killed for being a protestant in a Catholic area and Vice Versa...Have you heard of the IRA?

In the News a couple of years back, there was a story on the news about some protestant kids going to school in a Catholic area, they needed a Police escort to get to school and live on telly someone threw a pipe bomb at the crowd of police and kids...A policeman was hurt but luckily no children.

Someone must have missed the commandment that says...

"Thou Shalt not throw pipebombs at kids in the name of Religion"

And Nocturnal Sun, that was not offensive what I said, that was the truth, if my parents let religion rule their lives I would never have been born, that is another reason for my hatred. The both of them denounced their religion for happiness, now that is powerful, not being told what to do by a dead Jew whose buried in France

Back to topic, All metal has Satanic imagery, not just Death Metal and yes I accept that some bands use it as a gimmick to sell records, but Music was created for, and should be, a means of communication and an art form, and I respect genuine Artists, whatever they have to say, if I don't like what they are saying, then I don't listen. I will give anything a try, but once I have made up my mind that is final.

So if you don't like what people are saying in their songs don't listen, it makes you a hypocrite.

ok just totally drop the religion deal. it's dead and been runover by 4 cars already cuz nobody can agree.

But what about if you like the music, just not the lyrics? I'd say the best strategy there is to download the music instead of buying it. I see bad lyrics as that artists' own problem and view on life. They're not stating facts, so you don't have to believe them like if they say like in Nevermore's Believe In Nothing "Nothing is final and no one is real." I can still listen to Jeff Loomis's kickass guitarwork if I download their music rather than buying it, because buying it would support the ideas contained within the song, as they are theirs.

The people I respect the most are artists who leave religion out of their music completely.

You say you respect bands that leave religion out of their music, can you name me some? I would like to hear some.

Religion is such a bane to many people, that's why black metal started, Norway was taking back what Christianity took from them, many years ago.

If you listen to anything Black Metal, that means you are contadicting yourself, you can bang on about, "I like the music" but if you are not listening to the music you are closing your ears to the message...oh wait you are a Christian, so that explains a lot.

Why is it so hard to grasp? Most of the lyrics are barely understandable because of the growls and screams, so one would have to try damn hard to really find out what they're saying. I don't see metal as a genre of music for me to turn to when the world as I know it hates me and I want to find others like me. I see metal as just another form of music. Granted yes music could have messages in it, but why pay attention to the lyrics of metal if the guitar/bass/drums/keys/anything else is the true heart of the music? Most lyrics in metal are boring, uninspiring, unoriginal, and contain no deep meaning. Really some of the only lyrics I listen to are Tool, A Perfect Circle, Dark Tranquillity, and In Flames.

Say whatever you want about me (as if I could stop you), but my reasons for listening to metal are very different than yours apparently. You will believe what you want to and so will I, because in my mind I am right but in yours, you are right also. As long as we can't be defeated in our own brains we will keep fighting until one just gives up. so I'm saving u the time & givin up. keep talkin if u want, but know nobody's listenin dude. later...

Never are we (christians) suppost to exclude ourselves from others, but this is what seems to be everyones interpretation of the "Christian." They only accomidate themselves with others just like them. I believe that Christians as much as anybody need to be open minded and tolerant to others oppinions. I believe that christians have separated themselves from the community, Chritians judge and point fingers, yes, forcing some and shoving religion down others throats. This is wrong and unintelligent, because when someone is forced to do something what happens! They naturally want to rebel. So I ask you to not judge Christianity by the people who believe in it, but instead by God alone. This is a very unrealistic task to happen since christians are suppost to lead others to God as well. I believe that a christian has the right to listen, whatch whatever he/she wants as long as it doesnt go against the will of God; Deliberately or unintentionally for that matter. Saying that its OK to listen to music with satanic lyrics that goes against God is just foolish, theirs no denying that. But by saying that christians cant enjoy a genre of music (like death or black metal) is just ignorant. Your contradicting yourself, first you say that it Christians cant listen to it because its sin and that you are a hypocrite if you listen to Metal because its "Satans Music!" But then you feel that Christians close themselves off? But whatever, lets stop all this religion bashing...its going nowhere
