How can you have Christian Black Metal? the whole focus of Black Metal lyrics are to be irreverant and full of darkness and mystery, something certainly not associated with Christianity. A listener of this music can still be Christian, as I am proof of, but a band cannot if they write such lyrics.

I have to disagree Nocturnal Sun. A whole genre isn't defined by teh bands views! It's the style of the music as a whole that's important.
If a band sounds identical to Emperor, but sang about pink bunnies and butterfiles - that's still black metal IMO. Their musical STYLE is the same, lyrics and opinions aside.

yes the whole picture of BLACK METAL = music, but I am stating that if these 'Christian' Black Metal bands use lyrics that suggest irreverant themes and such then they are hypocrites to the max

Actually, anti-Christian black metal is pretty pathetic. Without Christianity, Black Metal would never exist. Black Metal relies on Christianity's existence to survive -pretty pathetic if you ask me. They suck and feed off the religion like parasites. Where would their lives be without Christianity to despise and project hatred towards - they'd be very lost people if you ask me. Christian Black Metal (White metal as it is referred to) is more or less self standing.
Condeded, most Christian lyrics are atrocious (Extol, Antestor), but some I could actually bear to listen to:
a soft
glowing sphere rises within the darkened sky
clouds move and shift around a glorious moon
hanging far above the earth below
beams fall from the huge night light in the sky
far below
the cemetrey gates gently creak
as a cold breeze tickles the oak tree's leaves
they dance and sway to the blowing wind
an eerie fog descends upon the cemetery
thick enough to catch the moon beams
the graves are aglow with soft light
the full moon growing brighter with time
the breeze is no more
the air is still
a blankey of think fog is horizon bound
an abandoned grave is bathing ever so softly
in the fallen glowing full moon light
the grave abandoned in the wake of rapture
no longer the abode of a corpse
but a cavity in the earth's crust
the former occupant now far beyond the clouds
to bid farewell to the moon
the stars
the past
now but a faded memory
soon to vanish
the life beyond the flesh is yet to be discovered

Christian Death Metal... hm, ok... I think DM should not have something to do with religious (even satanic) things... (but everybody should do what he/she wants.)
But Christian Black Metal is fucking stupid! That's grotesque!
And half of the bands listed are no DM or are not christian.

no, Christian = Believe that God is the one Lord and follow his teachings. They are NOT Christian, for sure
