you've been told how they sound and that they're too mellow for metal, but that wasn't enough for you...you essentially said "I am broke and don't wanna spend money to test them, so someone else should spend that money to test and record them for me" and you're wodering why that doesn't go down well?

I think the flatwounds FEEL great but I too am unsure about the sound. Test time I think

He most certainly does. I tired them, had to tune to C to get my neck back flat. I normally tune to Eb with .45 to .105's. Strings are fucking tight!

i was browsing the daddario website and found the XL Chromes Flat Wound that appears to be very mellow ones.

have anyone tried them for metal? i really really am curious to see how they sound..

I'm not going to post clips, way too lazy for that shit, but I am playing them on a Fretless Jazz bass. They are a little mellow for extreme music, most guys still play roundwounds in tech death that has fretless, but can still work in the metal scene well. I personally don't like the sound of flatwounds on a fretted bass, but that's all opinion.
