clamp mic stand for MD 421

What do you use ?

I remember Andy saying he had some cheap Stagg mic stand that fitted the Md 421 nicely if used with the clamp upside down.

I got away from the clamp thing, but those clamps are near identical to the ones I did have.

With some modification they turned out okay, but overall I just ended up pissed off that I didn't use the money for stands.

Oh god, I HATE those clamps. They're such a pain to work with. I ended up having to bend mine practically to a 90 degree angle to get the mics where I wanted them.

So i´m still looking for some drum mic clamps that fit my 3 md 421.

Yeah, I've got one, it's sturdy and holds its position well! Still, I worry about phase cancellation from clamp mics (the vibrations travel through the stand and into the mic, obviously delayed from the direct signal the mic picks up, so hello comb filtering - I had a similar problem when mic'ing up my old 5150 combo when it was sitting directly on the floor)

The D-Vice is awesome, works like a charm! i don't know how long they will keep a md421 going though.. but with 1 or 2 adjustments i used it on a floortom with a md421 once..
