Our new demo is out! It's nu metal and we're not ashamed of it so we have a good sense of humor right? :Saint:

Feedback!!

It doesn't sound like a "demo" to me...and that's a compliment!:D

I think you could bring the bass up, otherwise sounds really good! Back too tö yläaste!

Hahaa.. exactly! Makes us feel like 13 year olds again. :D We did notice that bass issue but we tried the mix on several subwoofers and the overall mix was extremely tight the way it is so we decided not to boost the bass. Boosting the bass made it sound.. well not as good.

Hey thanks man! Well... this is a zero budget recording but we run our own tiny studio here so we have enough skill to make things sound the way they do. :)

Is this a Clark Kent job? Joshua Wickman would like to make sure.

Haha... I'm not sure what you mean. The definition of "Clark Kent job" would be a job that pays the bills while Clark Kent's real job is being Superman. So... this is kind of the other way around. We have our "Clark Kent jobs" that pay the bills but this is us being "supermen" which we feel is our calling.

This demo was recorded by me and my friend Janne. Both of us could've easily played all the instruments. Well I suck on drums and love to do vocals so... what happened was that I only did the vocals and wrote most of the songs. Janne actually played these LIVE DRUMS and guitars and bass and... whatever you hear in those songs. Here's a video where we record the drums... very ghetto!

EDIT: and no quantizing!

I really like that snare sound! Did you use samples on that snare and if you did, what samples? TH2 for guitars?

The snare is all natural. Room mics are what make that snare sound the way it does. If you can't see it in that clip we're using three overheads and two room mics. The snare is one probably the cheapest Tama snare available from the Imperial Star line. Snare sound is all about how you tune the snare and luckily this guy is a master when it comes to tuning. Also there's some moon gel on that snare. Makes it tight!

Sounds great man!!!! the guitar effects is from POD HD500 ??

I dunno if the effects were from POD HD500, but the amp modeling was. There's nothing wrong with the amp modeling in the POD HD line. The stock cabinets just simply suck balls. With IRs... just as good as Axe-Fx if not better.

Really got into 'Superhero'. The chorus seems a bit weak comapred, but fuck it, that song's good. I come from a nu metal background too by the way. Even though I wouldn't really call this nu metal per se, more like inspired by.

your mixes are so clean it's scary...

Haha.. thanks man. This was more of a collaboration with Janne (from Dollar Sound Studio) and he did most of the work to be honest. Ofcourse the way we record stuff requires very little post processing. I would say that's the secret. No compensating in post processing. We mix the same way... he recorded the drums to his drum mixing is very personal and accurate. I just concentrated on the vocals.

Thanks man! We have many influences. I guess our sound is still "current" but clearly has that 90s numetal vibe. Korn, Linkin Park and even Limp Bizkit... but a few years back we were all about progressive metal.
