Let me just start by saying this was meant to be a joke at first but then it actually ended up working surprisingly well!

This is a FREE instrument for Native Instruments Kontakt:

Feel free to use it. If you're kind enough please mention me if you publish stuff with these samples.

It's meant to be BUSSED out to 4 outputs: kick, snare, toms and overheads, so you can EQ them to your liking. The samples are from Underoath and The Almost. (my favorite drum sounds) I do not own any rights to these samples and I'm not trying to profit with this. Here's a quick sample of the sound, this is just RAW with a little reverb.

In future I'll probably make more snare samples so you can create natural snare rolls but for now this will do.

how do we add this to kontakt? maybe im doing something wrong but i cant get it to work.

Oh. Just finished the download and there is just WAVs and a wallpaper... no NKI

I downloaded it and there was an .nki file. It's in the main .rar folder, not inside the "... Samples" folder. Try downloading again.. sometimes winrar/antivirus programs delete files for no reason at all.

You need to find the .nki file with the file browser on the left side of kontakt. Just drag and drop that on the instrument screen and maybe add it to "quick instruments" so you can do it quicker in the future.

Will this work in Kontakt player? Or only in the full version?

It should work in the free Kontakt player also... not sure though.

Haha.. no problem guys. There are a few variations of every cymbal in a different key. So when you're "playing" these drums on a keyboard you have to use multiple keys. They are in a logical order.

The samples are from many different albums. (maybe all of them) Basically I went through all drum intros that I could find from these bands. Eliminated guitars with MID/SIDE EQing. Most of those parts don't have drums ringing out entirely so what I did is use my existing favorite samples archive and pitch shifted similar sounding drums to the same frequency, then I match EQd them to sound similar and crossfaded them with the samples I could find. So just about all of the samples are made of two different samples with match EQ on the sample that wasn't from the Truth kit. The end result was a very realistic sounding kit. I should've made more snare samples but that was the hardest drum to get sounding "right".

These kind of files will NOT work on the free version of Kontakt (Kontakt Player). They can only read those "closed libraries" that developers have to pay a bunch of money for NI.
