"alone in the dark" is the best nwobhm song ever written, and the rest ain't half bad either. also brian ross has the voice of god.

the maiden comment's seconded btw, but that's not even saying much.

Hardly anybody has heard of Sabbat of Satan or even cares so they can't be all that essential. I agree on Mercyful Fate being an essential band though.

It's my understanding that you're blue jay?
Whatever.
This is a really stupid comment because among well-rounded metalheads Sabbat and Satan are very well respected bands.

I'm neither confirming nor denying. Beg more.

Actually you guys r the only metalheads I know who talk about both bands... just cause those bands aren't underground 2 u doesn't mean they aren't underground to the metal community as a whole.

Arguement destroyed, next.

too many trolls lately tbh

Ch.. and your not one yourself.

If were talking Sabbat UK, dont know any material from the Japanese one, gotta say your wrong. Dreamweaver is pretty solid ill give them that, but History is a pretty weak release vocal wise, and I heard their 3rd cd is total crap. Satan's court in the act is ok, but yet again nothing amazing.

Yeah, I mean the UK one. History of a Time to Come is just a completely venomous assault of riffs and Martin's vicious and ripping vocals, don't see how you can say it is weak in the vocals they're one of the best things about it. Not a single album in thrash can even match this one. As for Dreamweaver I love it, really fucking good, not as good as History though. Still miles ahead of most thrash.

and Mourning Has Broken ... yeah. Not much to say about that.

As for Satan man those riffs - fucking so good! :kickass:

LOL@Ozz being a troll
Anyhow, underground is relative. Here on UM we're some kvlt motherfuckers.
But anyhow, Sabbat and Satan were both influential to many other bands and produced albums that are great examples of that style. Hence the "classic." Classic does not mean "sold a lot of copies."
