Hi, Andy! Did you do the drum recordings without the CLICK? Esterday i had a debates about this question. I have an opinion that it's stupid to record drums without click!

Depends on the vibe you're going for IMO. In todays world of modern produced metal, its essential. However, old school thrash records wouldn't have the same mojo if it was all done to click.

Can you imagine Testament's The Legacy completely flawlessly in time? Lame!

i work with a click all the time now, though I the Testament albums Ive mixed have all been to no click

But why you are working with the click now? (advantages/disadvantages) Maybe drummers have some psychological problems working with click?

i prefer it, flying parts in, delay times etc, you can still groove with a click.

Hey Andy, when you are recording to a click, how do you record songs where the tempo changes midsong with no sort of pause? Do you record each tempo section of the song seperately and just tack em together on the computer or do you sequence a click track that follows all the tempo changes of the songs and then just expect the drummer to try and switch to the same tempo as the click...? There's probably a much better way to do it then either of those suggestions that I'm just oblivious to, so I figured I'd ask since this is a problem that has been plagueing the recording of my band's demo which we are doing ourselves...

The whole point of drumming is to play pretty much in time. If you work it out before hand you can set the click to speed up and slow down, therefore still allowing time changes. It's moronic not too nowadays really.
