COHEED AND CAMBRIA - any good?

i'm a total freak for pinch harmonics though, i hear one and i'll buy 3 albums by whoever did it.

not to mention that dude's 'fro totally kicks the shit out of mine.

me: "yeah, it's too bad my hair stopped doing the Buzzo thing once it got longer than a few inches."
my vocalist: "yeah, that's pretty much the biggest disappointment about Three Sheets so far."

:loco:

Despite their fan base, despite their "emo" tag, these guys are great musicians. The vocals take a bit of getting used to, as well as their subject matter. However, Second Stage Turbine Blade is a pretty damn catchy album. Worth checking out if youre into Pinkage. Their newest is gayer than gay though.

Which album is this song "welcome home: from? This is some good shit! I can get past the subject matter of "why didnt you kiss me before you broke my heart", aswell as "look at me i'm james labrie with no nuts", just as long as the album isnt comprised of jump da fuck up/breakdown/screamo/emo arm flailing shit.

Snow2fall can you post another mp3 sampling? I fear this may just be a ruse. Leading me to go buy the album and turning on welcome home along with 9 full blown anthems on the subject matter of "why is my sweater so tight?"

Lyrics can totally be dismissed while accompanied by good music. But who doesn't enjoy a good lyric? Speaking of which, I was totally blown away on last listen of Sol Invictus's "The Devil's Steed", great music, great lyrics, go figure.

yeah i like good lyrics, i mean i read like 2o46904286092kfjdgoifkl53io5lkf books per week so obviously the written word means a lot to me, i just pick on people who hate a band for having bad lyrics. shorta shhhhhhhhilly.

O.K I gave these guys a gung ho try, really trying my best to like them. Good music, but the vocals leave me feeling apprehensive. During the instrumentation I'm as relaxed as can be (as I am with all music I enjoy), then the singer opens up his mouth and I start having an anxiety attack. He and the singer of Omnium CuntHerHam should go on the road and form some sort of Dylan/Carter duet. Bah
