During summertime I can get a very dark cool fat guitartone very easy.
But on extra cold winterdays I get a pretty high 10khz spike when micing an cab. I have several cabs, mics and amps and they all act like this. So i actually have to lower the precense and maybe do a narrow cut at 10khz to get a usable sound. Pretty wierd.

Anyone else experiencing this or am I crazy?

Haha that sounds crazy man!!! How much does the temperature differs during summer vs winter? I always have a spike around 4.8khz when im micing guitars.

Quite alot..I live in norway. You're in sweeden eh?
I have a 3khz spike myself all year...easy to carve out, but khz that comes and goes..haha, yeah.

Bough an owen.

Solution: Mic your cabinets indoors.

Unless you're doing a black metal album and literally recording it in a forest, in which case... leave the spike. It sounds kvlt.
