I would love to mix this song, BUT: "Error (509)

:(

Sounds awesome, looking forward to mixing it!

Care to share some details about what was used for guitars and drums?

Cheers!

We have several pictures and some teasers of the recording process on our blog: http://blog.colossometal.com
Go through the several pages to see all the pictures :)

But to sum it up, on guitars:
Guitar used: Jackson slatfxmg 3-8
DIs: recorded with a POD XT Pro
Reamps (by Eduardo Apolónia): EVH 5150III + Mesa Traditional 4x12 Cab V30 + SM57

I don't know for sure what was used on the drums... :erk: but please check the pictures! :)

We ended up with the exact sound we were looking for for drums. All due to the amazing work of our friend Ricardo Oliveira at Stone Sound Studio (https://www.facebook.com/StoneSoundStudio).

Cheers!

Thanks for uploading the raw tracks. This was fun to mix and the song is cool.

Cool to see the first mixes popping out :)
Thanks for the comments and for the interest on mixing the track, guys! Cheers!

hey!

thanks for the upload this was a real fun to do, especially because of the live drum.
with midi drums or sample replacement it would have been easier to get the usual metal drum sound each of us use, but this is why i found this interesting and challenging.
i also really dig the guitar riffs, heavy and catchy.

here's my try:

i hope you like it! :Spin:

Yes, the great challenge in mixing this release (and all of our releases, for that matter) was indeed the live drums.
Even with the amazingly talented drummers I've been working with on Colosso, it's hard to keep consistency through the entire tracks (comparing with most modern releases, where almost everything is sampled)... but it's possible! ;)
The only thing sampled in the raw tracks (and in the final release) is the kick drum... but that's a must do on this kind of music, imho...

Cool mixes so far... Thank you for entering the competition :)

a track with vocals would be more suitable for a competition, especially if you expect remixes.

I see no point in mixing this,it's just another instrumental for mixing practice. I've heard better ones here. What is gonna happen to winner's mix?
I doubt if anyone cares about the prize either.

Bass gear?
We used all of this:

But the main one was this one (the B7K) plugged directly into my profire 2626:

And of course, the bass and the bass player :)
