Comeback/Reunion Albums

Good ones:

Sanctuary - The Year the Sun Died
Riot/Riot V - Immortal Soul/Unleash the Fire
Winger - Karma (Go ahead, laugh...you shall not sway me!)
Queensryche - S/T / Condition Human (never thought I could envision a Tate-less Queensryche)

Bad:

Currently erased from memory...

Gorguts-Colored-Sands-e1375650955226.jpg

... the highest rated metal album of 2013 on RYM.

Deep Purple - Perfect Strangers
Heathen - Evolution of Chaos
Exhumed - All Guts, No Glory
Autopsy - Macabre Eternal
Obituary - Frozen in Time

Last years Rigor Mortis album is pretty solid too.

Mekong Delta's Wanderer on the Edge of Time is excellent, my favorite and pretty different for them too.

If you think about the time gap of releases containing new material, Release by Revelation qualifies as an excellent comback album.

It has nothing to do with image, shitlord. I found the albums before and after boring. Obscura is so radically different in songwriting and arrangement that its the only one that really connected.

Save your butthurt posturing for another thread. :)

As I said in the controversial opinions thread, I don't view metal as solely a vehicle for riffs, so:

I liked Cynic's recent comeback album even though it was an entirely different style and it caused them to break up again. Hope they do another comeback album sometime.

Also, black sabbath - 13 was great.
