This song got stuck in my head while at work today, even though I havn't heard it in over a year... So I was forced to blow the dust of Virtual XI and give it a listen the moment I got home.

No more tears, no more tears

Damn this song rules! I'd have to say this is the highlight of a mostly otherwise shitty album. Along with Lightning Strikes Twice, Como Estais Amigos must be the only other 'under-rated' Maiden song on a mostly otherwise shitty album. With the rest of the tracks ranging from over-rated (Futureal, Clansman), to mediocre (2 Worlds Collide), to flawed (Angel and Gambler), to crap (Eyes Of A Stranger).

I agree that 'Futureal' is overated, but I do still like it. Must disagree on 'The Clansman' though, as I think it is great! 'Lightning Strikes Twice' is solid, and is quite underated, and I think 'Como Estais Amigos' is the best (or perhaps the second best to 'The Clansman') on the album. Great song!

I think most of "Virtual XI" is great - "The Angel and the Gambler" is a very dodgy song indeed, though, but everything else is cool.

I really wanna hear B L A Z E's live Maiden covers, apparently they are awesome.

I think the idea behind 'The Angel and the Gambler' isn't bad, and that the song had potential, but just got out of hand and ended up sucking. If done properly, it could have made a fair "filler" track.

The Angel and The Gambler is about five minutes too long, with *way* too much repetition of the chorus (a problem with most of the songs on VXI), though I still like it 'cos it sounds like The Who .

Como Estais Amigos blows goats (sorry Sydo), but the rest of the album is very good indeed

I agree with Wrathy.... The Angel & The Gambler could be a great 4 minute song, but repeating the chorus 200 times makes it suck I think.

And Como Estais Amigos is the worst Maiden song ever in my opinion, I hate it! Haha. My worst on VXI which is my worst Maiden album, and my worst out of any Maiden album.

The radio edit of "Angel & the Gambler" is really good, actually, a vast improvement. See if you can find an mp3 of it!

I too like Angel and The Gambler. But as everyone else said, it's just too long on the album. It would have really rocked to have a short version on the album, and extended it live - but Maiden don't like messing with their own songs..

Como Estais is one of my fave Maiden songs. I always thought they should've ended the South American shows with it (a good way to really push Blaze over the top with the fans (no, not off the stage!)).

I have the Angel and The Gambler single, and the edit isn't on it.

You must have gotten the wrong version. Maiden release like 10 different versions of singles in order to boost sales and get a better chart position ("Bring Your Daughter to the Slaughter", anyone? ).

On my single, the edited version is track 1, "The Aftermath" (live) is track 2 and then there's the video of "Man on the Edge". Unfortunately, the live track was on a bootleg I already had. Oh well.
