so I'm trying to screen-capture stuff from DVDs with alt-printscreen...it appears to work, but when i paste the capture into MSPaint, it just appears as a black block. this happens whether i save it as a bitmap, jpg, gif, whatever. any ideas?

you need to get a piece of hardware called a video capture card.

Wow. I didn't realise it was such a hassle. Why does the price fluctuate from $20 up to $350...like, which features do I need?
