I thought it would be nice if you see a show you post a review.

Velvet Revolver, 2-2-2008 Witern theater Los Angeles

The band started 45 minutes late and that started me off a little P.O ed since I had drove 1:45 minutes to see them.I was upstairs in the balcony level and could not hear 0 of Scott W. the singers vocals where is the Line Array???, I could barely hear Duff , I complained and was moved to the floor. I could hear them better but drums muddied up the vocals just a little but the sound was much better ,anyway , they did kick ass , Slash was awesome , Scott W. is a fantastic front man. I did enjoy their set , and would recomend them to anyone who enjoys their music , they did all the first album 2 G and R tunes 1 STP tune and most of the new songs. I really liked the acoustic , ballad stuff , I am getting to old for heavy rock,

2-9-2008 Scott Wielin checked himself into rehab after the show.

I saw them back in May in Philadelphia... I thought they were terrific... tons of stage energy by all members and great tunes too.

Symphony X , Epica , Into Eternity / The Coach San Juan Capistrano

This is an old theater that has a dinner show package for 27 bucks. It is in tiers so get Section BB Center or CC.

See This Show !!!!!!!!!!

I think my next concert is June 25th Iron Maiden Somewhere Back in Time Tour!!! Looking forward to that!

I've missed most of the shows I had planned to see so far. They were either sold out (Symphony X) or bad timing (datewise) for Dimmu Borgir.

However, Saturday...OPETH!!!!!!! I'll post a review.

On May 7th, Eluveitie is playing in Sacramento. I thought they were headlining. Not even close. There are 6 bands and they are 3rd from the bottom. I hadn't heard of any of the other bands, so I went a searchin'. Should be a good show.

It's called "Paganfest". Pagan-metal is the designation for the Celtic/Norsk, folk, death metal. It's a very cool genre.

And of course, the definition of pagan is any folk, polytheistic religion not worshiping the Christian/Jewish god or Allah. Basically those people who believe in nature as a spiritual force and the earth being their "mother". It has nothing to do with "Satanism". However, I would (of course) go to "Satanfest" too. :headbang: If it existed. Seriously, would that be a blast? A bunch of people dressed in black and taking themselves WAAAAAAY too seriously!

Wait a minute...that sounds like a prog-metal crowd. Never mind.

Leon Redbone , 4-22-2008

Went to see Leon Redbone what a classic artist , he drinks a " bit " of Jameson and he has the bluesiest voice , tells jokes , his piano player is amazing.

About Opeth...

They DO NOT suck! I was pleasantly surprised last night. I may have to pick up something of theirs.

Okay. I'll try to keep this short...ish.

First: The band "3". I had seen 1 video on Comcast and a couple of clips on YouTube, but was NOT prepared for what I saw!

They were nothing shy of amazing! These guys blew me away. Musicianship and professionalism like I haven't seen in ages. The singer/acoustic-shredder/second-lead guitarist guy WILL be a superstar! He has enough skills to be spread out over a crowd, and make them all great. The rest of the band are awesome as well. Do yourselves a favor: Look 'em up!

Next: "Between the Burried and Me" Uhhh...Don't bother. I'm a HUUUUUGE fan of modern, extreme metal, but these guys are just trying WAY too hard.

If I wanted to listen to a whole stage-full of ass-hats solo at the same time, for 40 minutes, I'd go to a Dixieland Jazz festival. Not my thing. I think they hear themselves as being eclectic, like Opeth...they're wrong.

Then: "OPETH". This was my 4th OPETH show. I love this band way more than any heterosexual man should love a group of hairy-legged bastards. They inspire me every time I listen to them.

I am certain that our new record would not sound the way it does, were it not for Bartman taking the time to open my eyes to this amazing band. I owe a lot to him and to them.

Since my first OPETH show, I've been hoping to hear my favorite song, "Wreath". Unfortunately, they don't play this song live. UNTIL LAST NIGHT!!!! I was like a 14 year old boy in a porn shop (too much info). They made this one of the best concerts of my life.

That, couples with the fact that they debuted one of the songs from their upcoming release "Watershed" (which was simply amazing), put me in the best mood I've been in in months.

For me, the show ended there. DT was (technically) amazing, as always. In my opinion, the set list left a lot to be desired. I've grown weary of them. I'm done for a while.

I wrote a review of their part of the show, but have decided to keep it to myself. The reason for this will become apparent in days to come. :headbang:

Please stay tuned...

We saw Herman Honokawai at the Ohana Bar and Grill here in Kaanapali last night, an ecclectic mix of hawaiian, Hawaiian and Hawaiian music with a touch of Local Maui inflection.... LOL!!
But the drinks were GREAT!!!

Went to Rush in Reno on My birthday (the 3rd). Amazing show as always. It was fun to go with my friend Jarod,His first Rush Show. As a Drummer and Bass Player, he was like a little kid. Sweet. I finally believe that Neil Peart is a human as he dropped 2 count them 2 sticks during the show. One of them landed in front of his kit and Alex picked it up and played his guitar with it for a while before tossing it to the crowd. The only sorta bad part of the whole night was our seats were to the side of the arena and the mix was not great from there. it sounded much better when we moved to the center but we couldn't stay there. All in all a great time.
