Guys, im look for a midi controller to control (duh!) my plug ins. Im looking for something with lots of knobs so i can match every parameter in my channel strips. Everything points to the behringer BCR2000 but i`ve read that it doesn`t have a good enough resolution for fine tunning (for ex: 0,25 db increments in an eq) Any experience with it? any alternatives?

IMO Softube Console 1 is the best thing out there right now in terms of hardware controlling plugins. But it only controls the Softube plugs which are good and all but not likely to be the only plugins in a mix so it's utility is limited. Maybe more things like it will come in the future.

I've been looking for something like it myself recently.
I'm using my Novation Launchkey Mini as a main MIDI controller - it has a 8 knobs, 16 pads and several buttons. But now i think of getting a separate surface just for DAW control to leave launchkey just for synths.
Novation Launchcontrol or Arturia Beatstep look good to me. Launchcontrol has 16 knobs and 8 pads and 6 buttons, Beatstep has 17 endless rotary encoders (!), 16 pads and 8 buttons.

Looks good, though im looking for something with more knobs, since, plugs such as aireq at least 24 parameters

The only setup I've liked that i come across is the D-Command series, with their dedicated eq and dynamic control. I can't understand why noone has released that for a reasonable price.

But as people said Softube Console 1 seems very nice and people seem to praise it for it's workflow.

doesn't look like there's many solutions that work perfectly as mapping is always going to be difficult.

console 1 looks great if you want another SSL emulation. honestly slate raven looks like a good solution as you wouldn't have to worry about mapping ever.

Mapping isnt an issue for me, i work with reaper, and once you map your plugins to your liking yo can save it as default and automatically loads up for every project (plus it is super easy to do, just hit learn for every parameter and bam!)

I thought about raven and multi touch but honestly im looking for hardware feel and not being forced to look at the screen. Just turn the knob till it sounds nice.

Yeah, something like that plus dynamics would be what i need, but i want to choose wich eq and wich compressor to use, so softube console 1 is out of the quiestion...
It looks like the behringer is the way to go....

I really dont undestand why nobody comes up with an universal plugin controller. It would sell like butter IMHO
