Tis true i suppose. But his history is fucked up as well, and he, when younger, reportedly asked to be held in prison and not released. Apparently, officials made the wrong decision.


I dont know, maybe his craziness is something i like about his music, its not something you hear everyday when someone will be playing and then dive into rants about politics and the corruption in the judicial system XD not to mention he is actually a decent guitarist/vocalist for what its worth.

They do have jazz influences though.


Converge - Average as ever. Never saw their appeal and i doubt i ever will.

Did anyone pick up the album? I actually Kinda like it. Hard to get into for me at first (i like converge, but eh....)

However, the Grim hearts/Black rose track was a pretty big shock to me, and i Personally love that damn track (its probably the most accesible song ive heard form them too, oddly enough...but i think its great (there other mellower tracks havent been as intriguing as the rest of their stuff i think)


My only problem is that the slipcase is so fucking tight that its really hard to get the cd case out (my copy at least)

I've never heard Converge before. I have only had the chance to listen to one minute of that sample.

Not my thing. If I want somthing demented and abrasive, I'll listen to 'Sadness Will Prevail' by Today Is The Day.

That's where you're wrong. Few "metalcore" bands have pulled off what Converge do. If a band sounds like Converge, its most likely because they're ripping them off.

And I'm very happy to see nfu SOMEWHAT supporting Converge in this thread. It almost brings a tear to my eye.

somewhat? i totally support them. i think some of their ideas are a little underdeveloped, but im sure that will be solved on the next one. i completely promote ANY ambitious and interesting music which goes against the grain of what a band has previously done, or is seeking out new territory and can keep my attention. see also: my chemical romance's new album for details.

well yes and no. i never "hated" them...but until this album, i never really cared much for what they did. seeing as they were always more straightforward in my eyes (and basically a poor poor mans BTBAM). whereas with this latest album i definitely think they hold their own.
