Hoping Lasse or one of you guys running outboard conversion can help me out here.

I run an RME Multiface with an RME ADI-8 connected via ADAT. Now my question refers to the clock source setting.

I have the ADI-8 setting the clock for both the A/D and the D/A. Both options are set to 'Internal'. In the manual I read the 'default' setting is 'Internal' for A/D but 'Input' for D/A, meaning that the Multiface would handle the D/A side.

My question is, which is the ideal way to have this working? My inclination was to have the ADI-8 do it all because it's a more fully featured and better sounding unit.

I will likely soon be running two ADI-8s into a Digiface or 9652, so it would also be great to get clocking suggestions on a set-up like that.

Cheers!

Actually you need to run your ADI as master clock but an external clocking solution (Antelope are a great compagny for that, cheked her Isochrone OCX and whaou) would be a serious plus for you imho.
