The dirty clips sound to me like they messed up with the pickup order
81-81X sound like 81-85 and 85-85X sounds like 85-81

Yeah man I do, second 81 one was so muffled, it'd make sense.

Reading the review, I`m ready to bet that the guy didn`t even try the X pickups.
Review it totally generic and everyone who reads EMG-s descriptions could write the same.
Also, all 3 pictures are taken from EMG site.

These are possibly the worst clips ever. Some of them are panned 90% right for no reason, sometimes its 50% left, sometimes its centered. And in the 81X part of "EMG 81 & 81X Dirty", you can hear the levels changing throughout the playing, it sounds like there's a fucking tremolo effect on it

I was going to comment on that also.

I gave the article a quick read, and downloaded 1 clip, and after listening, I just rendered the entire thing redundant because the playing was so terrible.

I'd like to hear someone who is really experienced in getting consistent tones do something like this, like MArcus did with his shootout thingo with different EMGs.
