From Metal Side webzine in Krakow, Poland:

Myiasis
*Myiasis*
demo 2002
Could you explain me why Myiasis is still unsigned? Rhetorical question:
metal business is blind, deaf or stupid if no one offers this great band
a good contract. Self-titled material is one of the best independent
materials recorded in 2002 and even in the United States, the country
with hundreds good death metal bands, the quality of Myiasis is
exceptional. The quartet from Washington plays brutal death metal, being
the stylistic cross of NY*s school represented by Internal Bleeding and
Florida*s school of death metal (Monstrosity). I find the similarities
but first of all I hear Myiasis* originality. There are very fast parts
on the demo, full of blast beats as in the opening song called ...
*Outro*. There are also slower riffs (very intense) that make the demo a
diverse material. Each song is interesting, but I would praise first of
all *Mourn the Sun* and *Sloth* * the murderous hits that will satisfy
your deepest bloodthirsty instincts. Great are the vocals * mainly deep,
with perfect timing what noticed also other reviewers. Great is the
guitar work: not very complicated but very drastic, aggressive and
brutal. Finally, great is the drumming in case of which once again I
should emphasize perfect timing. 8 tracks last about 18 minutes so you
see that the tracks are not long. Sometimes demo materials are very well
written and executed but are terribly produced. Myiasis hasn*t such
problem. The recording is very good and can compete with most
professional materials of the bands that use best studios and producers.
I can*t wait to hear the band*s full-length debut. If they managed to
compose few more such killing songs (they are talented enough to do
that), their album should be one of the most impressive releases to
come.
